Mrs. Joyce P. Jones
Grant Writer
Joyce Jones is a retired Public-School Principal and Adjunct Community College Instructor. She is also a former Virginia Alternative Education and Virginia Association of Early Childhood Education President. Joyce remains active on governing boards and as a member of national, regional, state, and local organizations. She has over 40 years of experience in executive supervision and advisory positions and in developing and implementing programs and services for children and families. These programs and services required grant funding at the local, state, and federal levels, as well as from private businesses and organizations.
While accompanying her husband on various military assignments, both stateside and overseas, Joyce provided fiscal oversight for the construction of childcare facilities in South Korea and Bahrain. In addition to completing graduate courses for Virginia State administrative licensure, she earned a Master’s degree in Consumer and Family Economics from Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics Education from Fort Valley State University.
As a retired public-school administrator, Joyce has firsthand knowledge of the importance, need, and impact of vocational technical education opportunities on individuals and the community. These opportunities should focus on learning through hands-on practices and work-related skill development rather than theoretical knowledge from traditional four-year university programs. Adequate financial support is critical to providing and creating support that benefits individuals, local communities, and the world.
